## Why It Matters

Whoever can edit sshd_config can enable root login, add their own keys file location or weaken authentication.

## How It Detects

Stats every existing file matching /etc/ssh/sshd_config, /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/*.conf (metadata only, contents are never read) and fails if it is writable by group or others.

## How to Fix

chown root:root /etc/ssh/sshd_config /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/*.conf && chmod 600 /etc/ssh/sshd_config /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/*.conf

## How to Verify

```
stat -c '%a %U %n' /etc/ssh/sshd_config /etc/ssh/sshd_config.d/*
```
